The Story
The "Paukenschläger", a figure from the famous "Monkey Band" by Johann Joachim Kaendler, the first MEISSEN model master, testifies to masterful craftsmanship for which he became famous. Very much in vogue at the time, the monkey was his motif of choice for this whimsical orchestra. The 21 collectible figures are all hand-painted en detail, giving each monkey its own charm. Each figure is unique because hand-painted, and therefore particularly interesting for lovers of collectible figures. With the "Monkey Chapel" newly created by the modeller Silke Ebermann, the centuries-old handicraft as well as the fabulous skills of Johann Joachim Kaendler are reminded.
